Nice old hotel in beautiful grounds and parking for your car was very good, the staff in the restaurant were very friendly and efficient and the 3 course dinners were excellent. We had a great room overlooking the gardens the room just needed updating they kept it clean and nicely maintained. Would definitely recommend and go again, it was within easy walking distance to gardens, shops and Derwent water.

Ease of parking, excellent dinner, lovely staff and a spacious room made for yet another extremely pleasant stay. Vanessa and the other dining room staff coped admirably with the additional presence of a very large number of cyclists and support teams on the first night that were involved in a high profile race.

Rooms and corridors VERY dated and in desperate need of painting. Breakfasts great but dinners not so tasty. Lovely grounds and communal seating area smart and comfortable. Shower in room inside bath and it was poor and running hot and cold. Bed not the worst but certainly not the most comfortable. All in all a very expensive mistake which will not happen again.

This is a lovely old hotel built in 1869 for passengers arriving at the Keswick Railway Station The bedroom was clean and bright and the dining area was modern but in keeping with the old building as was the bar area. The main entrance was wide open when we arrived but later they had closed the doors it revealed the beautiful original revolving door. The only things I would say was the main hallway and stairs carpets had started to show signs of wear and could maybe need replacing and there is obviously no air conditioning in the rooms being an old building but we were provided with a fan but we cannot fault anybody the staff especially Ben & Emma who served us in the bar area and Lily who was our waitress for breakfast. Will definitely stay again if we are up in the area.

All the staff were extremely helpful, the hotel was beautifully decorated and furnished and the rooms were lovely. Only a five minute walk into town and some lovely restaurants and bars. Throughly recommend whether you want to relax in Keswick or walk the surrounding hills. The boat trip was lovely and very reasonable, gave access to some pretty spots including the walk Cat Bells.

Lovely hotel with ample parking. Easy walk into town for food or a visit to The Theatre on the lake. Excellent breakfast and bar facilities. The only suggestion I would make is bottled water in the room would be a nice touch.

The hotel is well located for access to the town, shops and bars. There are also a lovely walk behind the hotel on the old railway line to Threlkeld as well as down round the lake. The room was very clean and breakfast and dinner were excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful and there was plenty of parking
