Vacations Close To Boca Chica State Park

Room was roach infested! I'm not talking one or two roaches...I'm talking...turn on the light...roaches scattering everywhere. There were places on the walls where prior people had smashed roaches on the wall that housekeeping had not cleaned off. At check-in...there was a sign $25 per pet / night...I showed the front desk guy that Expedia shows $20 and he honored the priced. Fire alarm went off for about 3 seconds the first day I arrived; then, did the same at 2:00am my last day. I didn't try the breakfast after what I witnessed in my own room. The room adjacent to my room had the door cracked open about 6 inches. I thought it was weird and was open the entire 2 days I was there. I finally peeked in, to see that the room was under repair; although, I saw no one working on it the entire time. At this price point...I can live with the dingy towels and linen...but; not the roaches. Watched Starship 14 launch...AMAZING! Certainly wouldn't stay here again.

Ended going to a different condominium because supposedly the one we had rented was not clean so they gave us a totally different one and was horrible nothing compared to the one i paid for.

This is the 3rd time I ve been staying in Sandrose. The first two times we had an excellent stay coz our rooms were beach view and the atmosphere was really meant for mental health. This 3rd time I had family from out of town and we got the family room.My poor choice of doing that coz the rooms were located afar from the beach and NO VIEW at all. It s also have a distinct smell in the rooms and not sure if it s the water or the sink with swamp smells. We didn't enjoy that much this time.
