“No food available. No bar to use. TV didn’t work. Shower was a dribble. Pillows made of lumps. The “packed mini bar” described by the staff had a small carton of long life orange juice in it. Nice view of a brick wall from the room. Constant noise of trains and cars on the A5. Not quite the Bankside idyl that the website promised. Save your money.”

“The hotel is still not at the standard it deserves and given the building, could be so much better. The food has improved considerably in the two yrs since i was last there, but the rooms are still tired, the paddock rooms can be like hostel rooms yet are charged at a rate far in excess of what they deserve. The staff are generally helpful but the standards are not quite there. I stood waiting for what felt like an age while I watched the barman clean the snack jars, something that could have...

“We absolutely loved this place! The rooms were spacious and excellent. Bedding was comfortable. We had travel difficulties and arrived late and the host was gracious and accommodating. I highly recommend staying here.”

“For location was pretty quite. Nice touch was the bottle of wine. Comfy bed. Small bathroom and sink was in the bedroom. But not a deal breaker. Nice breakfast with a good choice. Would definitely stay again”

“Absolutely picture perfect. I needed to escape, unwund, and relax in nature. Be careful what you wish for, you may never wish to leave. The family run location is stunning and they couldn't have been more caring or accepting if they tried. The lcoatio is outside a small village. The nearest restaurant, shops, etc.. is a 10 minute drive.. which made it even better for me. Absolute silence at night.. and the sound of nature in the morning.”

“Typical mid-range, rural conference hotel. Archaic procedures that required you to head to the reception every single time that you wanted to use fitness facilities or pool. Correct, if not very friendly service. Overpriced, but decent restaurant (besides the pub five minutes walk away, the only dining option around here). Hotel had just reopened after holidays so Wi-Fi wasn't functioning for the first 24 hours. Blimey.”
