After a disastrous stay in the Northampton Ibis (old, tatty, noisy, hot) I thought I’d give the Mercure a whirl. Fractionally more expensive, it was everything that the Ibis is not. Fresh, up-to-date room, quiet, cool (aircon), comfortable bed. I’ll make the Mercure my new Northants base.
