“Great place to stop off either to stay or eat”

“Such a wonderful property, and the rooms are so very clean and comfortable. We slept so well, and were treated quite nicely. Kate is such a lovely host, and her brekkie is top-notch. We enjoyed chatting with her as we ate, and found her delightful and helpful. The farm setting is so peaceful (for us guest that is, a lot of hard work for owners), and the location is great for visiting the Lizard and other places around south Cornwall. Thank you much for such a great stay!”

“Preis-Leistung ist in Ordnung. Das Hotel hätte sehr viel Potential. Ist wunderschön gelegen und hat charme. Leider ist es wirklich in die Jahre gekommen und wirkt dadurch teilweise etwas ungepflegt. Am Morgen um 8 Uhr stand unangekündigt jemand vor unserem Fenster und hat die Fenster geputzt. Ein doch eher unangenehmes erwachen. Ansonsten ist das Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit.”

“This was the culmination of a self-promise made 11 years ago. Then, we had afternoon tea on the patio, but can’t remember how we discovered Portloe. We said we should stay here if we ever visit Cornwall again. Fast forward to now; an unexpected opportunity to re-visit Cornwall. And it came to pass. “Amazing views, very lovely staff, easy parking, very clean and comfortably spacious rooms. Only thing to note is that if the bar / restaurant is open and music on, and it's summer and you have windows open, it can get a bit noisy on the top floor. We stayed Friday and sat night so that might also make a difference. Parents were in room on cliffside below the restaurant and was much quieter there. Five stars easily even with this!”

“I expected much more for the price (£250 per night). The hotel feels dated and is in need of renovation. Cleanliness was below expectations, the car park was dirty, the staff were not particularly friendly, and the breakfast quality was disappointing. The location near Fistral Beach is good, but that alone does not justify the high price. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel at its current rates.”

“Gorgeous location overlooking the sea and across road from sea. Peole snorkeling About 15 mins walk from the centre. Lovely quaint rooms and nice tea and coffee. Very safe area. But note if you are back after ten you have to take you key with heavy tag on or wait for ages for someone to let you in”
