“A 3-star hotel / bed-and-breakfast - very personal, friendly service. The hotel is visited daily by locals buying newspapers. All meals cooked to order, including breakfast - a nice change to the usual experience in hotels nowadays. We turned up at about 4.30pm to find opening time was 5pm - we must have missed this in the instructions. The hotel was open promptly at 5 pm however. On the Sunday the bar closed at 5pm so dinner had to be elsewhere - not a problem for us as we always tend to have...

“Hi Jamie is a lovely young lady that runs the pub. Very helpful. The property is an old pub. There’s homemade food but no breakfast. But up the hill is a great cafe called The Hive. Unfortunately due to the heat we had to have window wide open, the problem is that it’s a is a busy road and therefore you hear lots of traffic noise even late at night . “Breakfast was excellent with friendly and efficient staff. Between midnight and 3:00am there was a great deal of drunken singing in the street. One of the revellers tapped on my bedroom window. Perhaps this was a one time event(England vs Norway.). It wasn’t really a problem for me, but my wife, had she been there with me, would have felt threatened by this. The lack of night security should be remedied.”
