“Having stayed twice previously looking forward to our stay.Rooms bar area all good ,but the standard of the dining room was a big step back Dinning room was poorly organized.Staff always on the back foot having to ask for things that should have been on table Dinner for 2 people was 2.5 hours Staff rarely present in dining room to speak to. “We are bicycling and they had a secure place to store our bicycle during our stay. The breakfast was excellent. The manager was very helpful. This hotel was in a town that fit with our daily ride schedule.”

“The bedroom was clean and toilet were clean. In terms of comfort there was no mattress protector on the bed and a pretty thin sheet on top of the mattress. Therefore pretty basic and uncomfortable bed. There was one bath towel and a mat. No toiletries or hairdryer. The kitchen was a bonus. However the bin was full and some other residents left dirty plates in the sink, The security men on site were pleasant and friendly.”

“The hotel is extremely dated. Note that there is a large annex, so if you are in a “garden” room, you are not staying in the castle, it is an outdated 1980s annex. The bathroom had a sink that had been broken and poorly glued back together and a very dirty fan. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and could have used a mattress topper. You feel every spring in the mattress. The entire hotel also had a very musty smell. The actual castle portion has potential to be very beautiful, but some...

“We stayed in the lovely Conon Suite which is very light and roomy with two large sofas. Meals were tasty and generous portions. Staff were really friendly and the whole stay was very relaxed”
