“The hotel is not inspiring on the outside but is well situated for trains, buses and travel to the Isle of Wight. It has the feel of a run-down hotel which is in the process of being up-graded by the present owners. My room had comfortable beds and a newly fitted bathroom but the windows could only be opened a small way as they were blocked by a fire escape staircase immediately outside. “It was very hot and they forgot to put a fan in my room but when ask one was supplied, the doors on the outside keep banging when other guests coming or going and the noise from some bikes rasing on the street below my window kept me up a long time during the night but the staff in the restaurant and hotel are great.”

“The room was clean and tidy, but needed redecorating, as did the whole hotel. The staff were very good, but the bar had run out of lager. One customer had ordered a pizza, and got someone else's meal, and then his pizza never showed up.”
