“Buena ubicación ”

“Lovely clean room. Staff very friendly and informative about local attractions. Good choice of breakfast. Plenty of parking.”

“Lovely traditional Lakes coach inn in great setting close to Bassenthwaite although no view of the lake itself. Service was a bit archaic but I’m putting this down to because it felt like everyone was new? The original historic snug bar is the best feature within but it is clear they are more focused on servicing the relatively new restaurant bar area. Free parking and WiFi. Cooked breakfast was fantastic as was dinner … but … why oh why would you feature Nothumbrian sourced ingredients in the...

“I've stayed at the Trout a number of times, it is a pretty, well maintained hotel with lots of character and ideally placed to explore Cockermouth, the Western Lakes and the national park. The food is good and the staff are professional and very friendly.”

“Excellent room; responsive staff is committed to service. Use driveway to the LEFT (downhill) of the house. Parking can be tricky in small lot, but help is available. Phone is needed for initial entry if staff is off-site (room key is in lock box and a phone call provides the code). I had a very happy and comfortable stay.”

“Great location and hospitality”

“La ubicación es muy buena, en general el servicio bien, los cuartos son ya más bien antiguos pero recomiendo”

“We had a great stay. Our hosts were fantastic!”

“Thank you to Phil and Helen for a truly lovely stay at Hermiston. The location couldn’t be more convenient ; an ideal base camp for exploring the Lakes. Phil’s knowledge of local walks was incredibly helpful. He’s also an excellent photographer; the stunning shots displayed throughout the B&B gave us so much inspiration for our own adventures. We also met some wonderful fellow travellers during our stay which added some wonderful conversations amongst the breakfast tables. For anyone driving...
