“Lovely setting, great welcome, food superb, staff friendly and helpful We had the suite (kingfisher) which was an excellent room except for a radiator being stuck on in the bathroom. The lady in charge (lovely lass) managed to get it sorted as the outside temp was up in the 30’s!!! If I have any criticism of the room, a little use of bleach would have gone a long way but please don’t let that put you off. The place is very very good. “Older property showing some wear and tear. Check in wasn’t too great, as we waited over 20 minutes with no one at the desk and were continually told they were having a busy day. While that’s okay, an option to leave our bags would have been nice. The staff acted a bit annoyed (two people separately) when I asked to check in, but the manager who eventually came was kind and helpful. The room was very warm (early August) with no cross breeze. “I have just stayed at The Fighting Cocks for the weekend. Unfortunately we choose the weekend of the A31 closure and the New Forest fires! Resulting in a lot of traffic passing the pub. Not their fault. The staff were very helpful and friendly the room was great, clean and comfortable and breakfast was included and really tasty. We had an evening meal on the Saturday which was ample and reasonably priced. All in all a great little stop over.”
