I found the hotel to exceptionally clean, the staff was very accommodating and friendly. Our suite had an excellent view of the Potomac River, we able to watch fireworks. The pool area was also very clean. I wanted to go to the restaurant, Dogon, but didn't know it's closed on Sundays and Mondays-- I must return in the near future.

This hotel has ruined me for any other hotels. If they're not up to the standards set at The Potomac Hotel, then I don't want to stay there. It was a beautiful space, staff were friendly and helpful, the room spotless and spacious. I didn't have a view, but I didn't pay for one. And it's close to The Wharf - within walking distance. 10/10 stay!

Beautiful room, amenities, and very nice staff members. We had requested a room with two beds (mom and daughter traveling together), but they gave us a two-room suite with a sofa bed, because no rooms with two beds were available when we arrived. This was not ideal, but they did the best they could under the circumstances.

The Salamander DC is the very best kind of posh. By that I mean that yes, the place is one marble floor or stunning sculpture after another, and the hotel room is vast and gorgeous...but the absolute best thing about it is the universal smile and willing spirit from every member of the staff. If you ever wondered if it was possible to find a hotel (or ANY business!) where every person seems to actually be glad to see you...step up to the Salamander. I enjoyed every moment of my stay!

Great staff. Especially Crystal and Nate at the front desk, and Elisa at the bar. Beautiful view of the river from our room. The room was great. Huge marble bathroom. The indoor pool is very nice. The only non-great is the buffet breakfast. In our opinion, way overpriced-$91.00 for two! That includes tip. All the food was room temp. Cold eggs. Cold soggy waffles, Cold sausage. Cold bacon, etc. Not well-prepared or flavorful. The coffee was very good: they use Lavazza. It was very much like a Holiday Inn Express free breakfast, but for $91.00. It convinced us to not go near the restaurant for dinner. No way. Overall the staff couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful Easy walk to the Washington Monument and museums and mall
