“I chose The Royal as there was a positive review about being good for solo travellers. This was my experience too. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful . It was easy to find and has easy access to the sea front. The hotel's location meant that I felt safe to walk alone in the evening , as I wanted to try local restaurants. “Sam, the general manager greeted us warmly on arrival, was very helpful, friendly and professional. Our courtyard room was clean and comfortable with a garden table just outside the door. Plenty of tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Dinner and breakfast were both plentiful and delicious. Highly recommended for a stay in the Mendips with dogs.”
