“The Railway Inn is a small hotel, over a pub that closes reasonably early and literally next to the train lines. The barkeep is also the hotel staff and the breakfast cook. She is terrific and lively. My room was on the second floor - spacious with two excellent twin beds, comfortable bedding and kettle, cookies, etc. They would like entry by 22.00 which I did not see in the ad, so I arrived later and she directed me to reach my room, which she had left open. The breakfast is cooked to order...

“The hotel is not in Oxford, is actually 30 minutes drive from the actual city and just a few rooms have air conditioning. If you plan to come during summer, the rooms are quite hot.”

“We had a nice and comfortable stay overall. The venue is lovely, with beautiful views and a great location. The rooms were nice, although a little dated in places. There were just a few things that could have been better. The toiletries were very limited for two people – only one soap, one shower gel and one body lotion. There was also a crack in the shower, and the water was filling up when using the sink, which wasn’t ideal. The spa was lovely, but we were disappointed that we had to pay...

“Very quaint pub in a quiet village - but full of life and character, obviously popular with locals and visitors alike. The staff were super friendly. Food was great. Our room was unique and full of old pub charm including sloping floors, but it was super clean, bed was comfortable and bathroom was well appointed.”

“We were looking for an overnight stop travelling back North from Southampton and came across here. There was a big extension being built to the front of the pub so parking was difficult but otherwise caused no inconvenience. We had 3 rooms and all were very comfortable and well equipped . What stood out about this place was the staff, all were genuinely lovely and friendly. Checked in and personally shown to our rooms. We ate at the pub and the food was quickly served and was simply delicious...
