The room itself was very clean. Staff were friendly. There were coffee shops within walking distance, but not much else. It was within driving distance to many things. I stayed 5 days and they only gave me 2 bath towels for my self and my daughter. I asked a maid who was downstairs to please leave fresh towels but didn’t need room cleaned. The maid sign wouldn’t stay on the door. The room cards on two different occasions didn’t work to get in the room and I had to go downstairs to have them fix. Thank goodness it happened when office was open, I can’t imagine what I would have done in the night had they been closed. The outside looks like a dive, but the inside is clean and much better. All in all I would not stay again.

Great historic property. Definitely has character. We enjoyed our stay. Clean, quiet and fairly centrally located for San Diego.
