“An absolute gem! A wonderful authentic pub offering such comfortable and friendly accommodation. The restaurant food is delicious and the full English breakfast is the best I can remember. The village is delightful.. and we were lucky enough to stay a Thursday when there is music, and we also had the best Mortis dancing! Such a memorable stay! Thank you”

“Room was clean except burns in carpets. Flies in restaurant- get a big bug zapper! Staff were superb Dinner extremely tasty except charge for pods which lay empty of £45.00 for 2 hours. Breakfast was lovely Location is great but a lot of road noise all day and night from everything from motor bikes to tractors. Property has 2 windows to counter noise but still prevalent.”

“We had an amazing stay, gorgeous shepherds huts in a lovely location. So nice to have the pub nearby! We stayed during the heatwave and our hut was particularly hot, the staff were so nice to prepare another more shaded hut for us for our second night, we really appreciated the gesture! Highly recommend!”

“Hotel céntrico localizado en un Pub. Las instalaciones eran correctas, el baño totalmente renovado. La habitación un poco pequeña. No tenía aislamiento de ruidos y casi se podía oír respirar a los clientes de la habitación de al lado. Desayuno correcto. ”

“Nice staff and great location if you're visiting the castle. But let down by shower head always dropping so I ended up holding it while using and absence of any shampoo/shower gel. Also it was a very hot evening when we stayed but the windows keept shutting close not allowing fresh air to come in. Overall for the price and the one night it was fine. One tip: if you're arriving after 5pm, there are plenty of on street parking which is free 5pm till 9am.”

“A beautiful pub with stacks of character!! Cosy and inviting. Food was excellent, staff extremely friendly and helpful. Locals also welcoming. The area is so picturesque it was a real treat. Would definitely return and planning to try out Sunday lunch sometime in winter to take advantage of the open fireplace. Miniscule gripe was it would be nice to have some nicer bread at breakfast rather than bog standard e.g. sourdough. But that is not a show stopper!! Definitely recommend, but be aware...
