“Very dated rooms & uncomfortable beds no air conditioning or fan. Breakfast only available 8.30 -9 am even though the information card in the room states 8.30-9.30, was told this is only at weekends? So why doesn’t information card state this? Two of us went for breakfast after 9 and was refused. Chef was only able to make a bacon sandwich. Coffee was thick and gloopy and undrinkable . “Immaculate room and very spacious with comfy big arm chairs. Bathroom was spotless too and shower lovely and roomy. Breakfast and dinners were delicious!! The pancakes came with loads of yummy bacon and plenty maple syrup! The fish and chips were plentiful, steak pie was hearty and filling! Will be back!”

“The bar maid was very argumentative. We told her we had a reservation to which she informed us that they do not take reservation for less than 6 people. When the professional gentleman returned he took us to our table which had our room number on it. Furthermore, she proceeded to serve a tall, good looking man who approached the bar way after we had been standing a waiting.”

“Cory, the manager of The Fox, is a lovely host. Super hard working, he is around to serve breakfast and still managing the bar late at night. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spacious and warm. Parking is immediately outside the rooms and easily accessed. Bury St Edmund’s is a lovely town with excellent shopping and coffee shops. Strongly recommend staying at The Fox for visiting Bury St Edmunds.”

“Very comfortable twin beds with ensuite shower, toilet and sink. Excellent location for town centre. No food served in pub but instead we were directed to sister pub Mason's Arms and had an excellent meal. Breakfast served at 8am. We considered our stay to be comfortable and pleasant, value for money. Would book again.”
