“Nice clean room and staff were fantastic and very helpful”

“Large and grandiose Victorian hotel located close to town centre. Easy (though expensive) parking. Quick check-in. Nice large room except bathroom poorly laid out. Only two small lifts seemed inadequate for size of hotel. Very large and very grand common facilities including bar and restaurant. Nice breakfast.”

“Super position and lovely staff. Comfortable room”

“We stayed one night as a stopover on our way home to Scotland. We had a superior double room in the lodge part of the hotel. Stunning room. Very spacious even with what looked like a super king bed. Lovely to have the little terrace space. Had a delicious meal in the restaurant and excellent breakfast in the morning. Loved the different options to normal offerings with overnight oats and yoghurt smoothies. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Lovely dog friendly hotel which we’d love to...

“The general public areas were excellent and staff friendly and efficient. We would certainly staff again. Minor points - Our executive room was on the 3rd floor and ceiling and windowsill let the decorations down although for an old building a very nice room. Could do with more plug sockets especially at bedside for charging purposes.”

“We were here for a wedding. Everything ran like clockwork and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. One word of warning, if you have mobility issues make sure you are on a floor serviced by a lift”

“The staff was really nice and always willing to help. The hotel was antique and some stances could be refurbished although it also has the beauty of that age. ”
