“We had a lovely stay at the Gilpin Inn. Room was clean and equipped with tea,coffee etc. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Nothing was a problem to them. We also enjoyed our food.”

“From the moment we arrived the lady on reception, I think she may have been the on-duty for our stay, was so helpful and aware it was both our pre-wedding and reception venue. There was nothing too much trouble for the staff, from breakfast in our room to preparing the reception room and buffet for our arrival after the ceremony. “Stayed at the George Washington in room 6 on 15th July. Room very nice and clean with tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer provided flatscreen tv and nice shower and towels. Had our evening meal here to very nice chicken madras and the homemade steak pudding washed down with some nice red wine. Cruzabas el puente y estabas en el centro de Kendal.Kendal un poco aburrido con horarios muy restringidos para comer.Cerca de la estación de autobuses para los lagos, bien comunicada.”

“The Red Dragon is advertised as "Has Onsite parking Very Rare for location. That was the reason we booked it. When we arrived we discovered it has zero parking. The manager and staff apologised and advised where we should park. the town is short of longterm parking. We ended up spening a lot of time driving around and paying a lot for overnight parking. The rooms are fine. the breakfast very good, the Staff friendly and helpful”

“The hotel is old and looks neglected .The rooms are clean and functional, nothing more. The staff are friendly and helpful. The bar area is nice and spacious with a good selection of food and drinks. Breakfast is definitely the highlight with a good selection of continental and hot food. The service was good. The lift is dodgy. Gardens and grounds can do with some maintenance and a clean up.”
