“The place is very dated, could do with a little TLC. There is no lift to the upper rooms, had it stated this on the website, I would not have booked. “Interesting old pub with good real ale. Evening dinner was very good but I found the full English breakfast a little disappointing. Bacon should be back and not two small rashers of streaky. The sausage was tough to break in to. The rest was okay. The room was spacious and had all the facilities. Would recommend for an overnight stay although you will need satnav to find it.”

“We stayed in the department down the street, apart from the hotel's main building. Its beautifully decorated interiors made us very happy throughout our stay. Unfortunately there is no air conditioning and we had to keep the windows open to keep cool, which led to spiders and noise from the main street coming in. The back garden needs a little bit of love, too. Otherwise, it was a lovely stay!”
