“Hotel lovely, bar service needs improvement both evenings we had to wait ages for service then he would disappear again no atmosphere either and very expensive, then we were charged a fee for bringing our drinks to our table on top of service which we didn’t see at check out! “Comfortable room with excellent tea making supplies - and a good sized mug each! The floor fan was useful as it was very warm. The hotel kindly allowed a later check out with a prompt and polite response to our request. Check in was efficient and simple. The evening meal was superb - great value and the pavlova! Wow! Chef’s kiss! All in all - a beautiful historic building and a really enjoyable stay. We will return I am sure. ”

“We stayed here due to a wedding at nearby Bruisyard. It was a lovely stay and I couldn’t fault it, a beautiful setting full of nature and a very well preserved property. Liz was very accommodating allowing us to drop our luggage and car off earlier than check in; we also came down to a very very nice breakfast with something for everyone. ”

“Room comfortable and quiet no aircon and very warm so kept window open. Reception friendly and efficient. Swimming pool area very good - cushions on loungers getting a little tired. Restaurant excellent service and food. Coping with large groups in other rooms didn't affect service. Breakfast area well stocked. Only complaint was one of the staff in the breakfast area taking fruit from the plates with his fingers - several times for his own breakfast.”
