“Fabulous B&B…traditional pub with great rooms with modern showers. Dinner used local ingredients and was very tasty and generous portion size. Breakfast had nice thick bacon, local sausage and all the usual black pudding, mushroom, tomato, beans and hash browns. Would thoroughly recommend”

“Firstly l would point out the staff were excellent and were very helpful. However the room was not great. It was cramped and you had to move the tv (or duck under it) just to get to the bathroom. The road noise was constant despite double glazing. Also had to ask the lovely staff to change the stained pillow cases. When leaving at 10am check out time the place was still locked up, curtains pulled and deserted.”

“Staff were very pleasant, friendly and exceptionally helpful. The decor in the room was beautiful and it was very clean with plenty of tea making facilities including ‘proper’ mugs and a teapot with tea cosy which was a lovely extra. However the room was very, very small and it did not have any drawers or wardrobe to store clothes (there was a small rail in the corner with four hangers to hang a few items). The en-suite was also very small but it was supplied with lovely White Company...

“What a delightful cosy rooms with showerrooms. Comfortable beds, with well insulation blinds/ curtain for the strong summer sun. Room was copl at night, and good bathroom facilities. We were going to be late, and staff rang to check on our progress. Staff waited until we arrived and showed us our rooms. Breakfast was included but the choice and want we were entitled too was a not clear. Cooked breakfast meals very delicious and tasty.”

“From arrival to leaving nothing was too much trouble. I was on my own and the staff were more than helpful as to where to visit . The food was varied and excellent. Breakfast was basic continental but didn’t want any more. I make what I consider sensible comments not criticism and mentioned these to them. 1 possibly a small fridge in the room in view of current conditions but found out I was lucky and had a larger room so this wasn’t feasible throughout. “Very easy to find with a large car park at the back. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The selection of drinks was great with it having its own distillery. The food was beautiful and freshly prepared. The room was just as you would expect and the bed was so comfortable! The set up overall was perfect. Would go back next time we’re there. There are also busses that run outside so no need to use your car.”

“The hotel was out in the countryside with excellent views over the moors. It was very clean and well cared for. Car parking was good. The room size, bed size, etc was great. One small problem - the room lighting was not very bright during the night time. The food was excellent and the staff were great. It was also a great place for walkers with great access to the countryside. I would recommend it.”

“Loved the old 17th century beams in the rooms and the uneven floors. Property was very quiet - even with the Football World Cup semi-final on while we were there. Staff were all incredibly helpful and loved the breakfast. 100% recommend and would love to take my dog next time as they are very dog friendly (they get a sausage at breakfast!).”
