“Very clean and cozy pod. Good wifi and all necessary amenities. Spacious grounds for children to run about. Good parking. Hammocks in shaded areas. The picture of a child on the beach made me think it was near the beach. Turns out it is not. That was a tad confusing.”

“I chose The Royal as there was a positive review about being good for solo travellers. This was my experience too. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful . It was easy to find and has easy access to the sea front. The hotel's location meant that I felt safe to walk alone in the evening , as I wanted to try local restaurants. “The staff were friendly, fun and efficient. A disabled parking space was close by for my husband and the ground floor bedroom exceptionally well accommodated and comfortable along with a wet room! The bar was fun, friendly and busy with excellent menu, great service and atmosphere. A local group of friends informally got together with instruments and voices. Much enjoyed. Highly recommended”

“Sam, the general manager greeted us warmly on arrival, was very helpful, friendly and professional. Our courtyard room was clean and comfortable with a garden table just outside the door. Plenty of tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Dinner and breakfast were both plentiful and delicious. Highly recommended for a stay in the Mendips with dogs.”
