“OK let’s call it like we see it. This is a boarding school in winter and a hotel in the summer. As long as you know that up front, you should have no issues. Check in girl was nice and helpful. Rooms were good size but basic. Black out shades available. Breakfast avaialable, but I suggest going to a local bakery. Great town. Nice people. Great overall experience.”

“There is a lot of renovation going on at Reykjanes, but mostly that's on the exterior and doesn't affect the interior or your comfort in anyway. Don't let the exterior view of the building put you off. The place has an interesting history and they're building for the future. The small peninsula on which the hotel is located is interesting in itself with a salt factory, "hot beach", and of course the large hot pool. The setting and the views are pure Westfjords. It's a breathtaking one hour....or...
