Vacations Close To The River at Rancho Mirage

1 Star — An Unacceptable Experience and a Complete Failure of Hospitality I’ve stayed at many hotels over the years, but rarely have I encountered such an astonishing lack of professionalism, courtesy, and basic customer service. Despite having a reservation through Expedia that we were required to pay for, we were never even allowed to check in. We spent approximately 45 minutes patiently trying to find a reasonable solution. Rather than demonstrating any willingness to resolve the situation, the person representing the hotel became increasingly incapable of maintaining a professional conversation. The most disturbing part? We were ultimately told to leave because we were supposedly a “threat to his safety.” Apparently, attempting to have a conversation and asking for a reasonable resolution was enough to warrant that accusation. Let that sink in. We were paying guests, denied accommodations, spent 45 minutes trying to resolve the issue, and were then treated as the problem. Hospitality is not simply about providing a room. It’s about professionalism, accountability, and treating people with basic dignity and respect. Unfortunately, this establishment failed at all three. What makes this experience particularly troubling isn’t that a problem occurred. Problems happen in every business. It’s how management chooses to handle them that reveals the true character of an establishment. I would strongly encourage future guests to consider this experience before booking. A r

The room was spacious and comfortable. While the appliances were a bit outdated, they were all in working order and met our needs. The resort amenities were great, we loved the pool, spent a lot of time in the lazy river, and my toddler had a blast. They also have a kids play area. My only real complaint was a staff member who repeatedly pushed a presentation on us after we explicitly said we weren't interested and just wanted a relaxing vacation. Overall, we still had a good time despite that minor annoyance.

The property is expansive and beautiful Spanish-style cottages. We were upgraded on arrival which was lovely. The pools were great, pool-side service was great. We enjoyed all 3 restaurants on the property!

Hidden gem in Palm Springs.

Great stay! Loved this resort. Room was spacious and kitchen well stocked. Bed comfortable. Pool area was great with on site food and drink. Would definitely go again.
