Nice hotel, well located near the Gaslamp.

Unfortunately, my stay was not what I expected. I choose a resort every year for my birthday as a quick getaway to relax and unwind. That is NOT what I got. The property is beautiful, but the experience was horrible. We were told parking was first come, first served, but that we shouldn't have trouble parking near our room. That was untrue, and we had to lug our luggage a good distance. The mini fridge would not get cold, so I had to ice my water. Then there was NO hot water in the shower despite letting it run and adjusting the knob. The next morning, staff began setting up an event directly in front of our room, blocking the view we paid for. I went to the front desk, explained I was trying to relax, and asked if we could be relocated. I was never offered another room; my request was simply “noted.” Staff spent the entire day moving carts, dishes, supplies, and equipment around our room. A backdrop was placed directly in front of us and turned out to be a waitstaff station. Stations were eventually set up on both sides of our room. We could hear staff coming and going, yelling orders, and creating nonstop commotion. The party went late with loud music and no privacy, forcing us to keep our curtains closed. The next morning, ANOTHER event was being set up. I should've just clocked in and worked there because I felt more like staff than a guest. The resort fee was waived, which I accepted, but the fee was never the issue. The entire experience was. I will not be returning.
