“We stayed here one night as my niece was getting married and having her wedding venue just down the road in the village Hall. The room was lovely, very clean and every thing you would need, to a very high standard. We didn’t eat there so I can’t comment on that.”

“We had a lovely stay at The Great Decoy. The weather was horrible unfortunately, but the pub was very cosy and welcoming with lovely open fires. Lovely food, great decor, lovely attention to detail including the gorgeous smelling toiletries provided. The bed was very comfy with lovely bedding. We will definitely return and also try out other pubs in the Chickpea Group.”

“Staff were lovely. Had a long drive and arrived on the cutoff for ordering dinner, but thankfully the staff were kind enough to still let us order. We had both dinner and breakfast, both were absolutely delicious. There was some games we could borrow which we enjoyed playing in the bar, only small disadvantage is the bar closed at 10:30. Room was very clean, stocked with tea and coffee and the extra pillows in the wardrobe was a nice addition. Overall, we had a very peaceful, relaxing stay.”

“Convenient overnight stop when visiting our daughter. Car park is large but there are lots of larger vehicles that double park making it tight for others. It's clean, comfortable bed, good shower but you can hear everything from surrounding rooms...sneezing, coughing, burping, snoring, use your imagination!!”

There was a big extension being built to the front of the pub so parking was difficult but otherwise caused no inconvenience. We had 3 rooms and all were very comfortable and well equipped . What stood out about this place was the staff, all were genuinely lovely and friendly. Checked in and personally shown to our rooms. We ate at the pub and the food was quickly served and was simply delicious...

“Quaint property with rooms in the main building and in an outer building across a patio with table seating where we had a quiet, well-equipped, modern room. The Inn is a short walk to a scenic marsh and pond with fish/eel traps and a bench for savoring the peaceful view. The town of Stockbridge, about a mile away, is wonderful for window shopping (and purchasing!) and is the start of a beautiful picturesque 'marsh walk' through grazing cows and lovely pastures. “Very quaint pub in a quiet village - but full of life and character, obviously popular with locals and visitors alike. The staff were super friendly. Food was great. Our room was unique and full of old pub charm including sloping floors, but it was super clean, bed was comfortable and bathroom was well appointed.”
