1. The Town Arms

Wallingford

“Upon booking I received a message from the property saying that check in was between 2-10 pm and to get in contact with them if arriving outside those hours. Below was information on the bar. It said bar/kitchen CLOSED on Mondays. When I arrived on Monday at 4:30 pm, the bar was closed but there was noone to check in and receive the keys from. I understand now that if the bar is closed - there is noone AT ALL in the property, even between 2-10. I had to fish through the internet to find a...

2. The Railway Inn

Abingdon

“The Railway Inn is a small hotel, over a pub that closes reasonably early and literally next to the train lines. The barkeep is also the hotel staff and the breakfast cook. She is terrific and lively. My room was on the second floor - spacious with two excellent twin beds, comfortable bedding and kettle, cookies, etc. They would like entry by 22.00 which I did not see in the ad, so I arrived later and she directed me to reach my room, which she had left open. The breakfast is cooked to order...

“We were looking for an overnight stop travelling back North from Southampton and came across here. There was a big extension being built to the front of the pub so parking was difficult but otherwise caused no inconvenience. We had 3 rooms and all were very comfortable and well equipped . What stood out about this place was the staff, all were genuinely lovely and friendly. Checked in and personally shown to our rooms. We ate at the pub and the food was quickly served and was simply delicious...

“Extremely disappointing stay and nowhere near the standard expected for a superior room. We had booked a twin room but were initially given a double. When we were eventually moved to the twin room we had actually booked, the condition of it was unacceptable. There was hair across the bathroom, stained bedding, significant dust throughout the room and heavy dirt and buildup around the extractor fan and light fittings. The coffee machine still contained water and used pods from the previous...

19. Euro Bar and Hotel

Centro urbano de Oxford

“I will never stay in this hotel again. Although inexpensive by Oxford hotel prices, you get what you pay for and it is not worth it. I asked for the quietest room - hahaha. The surrounding nightclubs and the bar below are full on until after 1am! And there is no sound proofing between rooms and I had noisy neighbours too! As you enter the hotel, the carpet on the stairs is filthy and the corridor smells. The room itself was clean enough but no side table and poor quality mattress and pillows. So...
