“The Railway Inn is a small hotel, over a pub that closes reasonably early and literally next to the train lines. The barkeep is also the hotel staff and the breakfast cook. She is terrific and lively. My room was on the second floor - spacious with two excellent twin beds, comfortable bedding and kettle, cookies, etc. They would like entry by 22.00 which I did not see in the ad, so I arrived later and she directed me to reach my room, which she had left open. The breakfast is cooked to order...

“Very quaint pub in a quiet village - but full of life and character, obviously popular with locals and visitors alike. The staff were super friendly. Food was great. Our room was unique and full of old pub charm including sloping floors, but it was super clean, bed was comfortable and bathroom was well appointed.”

“The staff were very friendly on check in and the room was beautifully appointed with freshly made cookies on our tea tray to greet us - the tea tray itself had plenty of choice and lots of coffee pods, not just one or two that you often get at other places. The downsides were that it was ridiculously hot when we stayed and the maid had left our curtains open so the room was like an inferno. There was no aircon but there were tower fans in the wardrobe - had to be grateful for small mercies!...

“The staff were friendly the room was clean. However, plumbing was shocking when a person in another room showered at the same time the cold water pressure dropped and risked scolding. In the room we were in there was poor ventilation with no aircon room was stiffling at night.”
