“We had a fantastic stay at The Family Tree. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was lovely, clean and quiet. And the breakfast was amazing! Just a few minutes’ drive from the Tramway Museum, or a lovely 40-minute walk along the canal to the Hurt Arms in Ambergate. In the end, we were sorry that we were only staying the one night; wish we could have stayed longer. We will absolutely stay here again the next time we’re in Derbyshire!”

“The staff were very welcoming, helpful and interacted with customers warmly, we were watching while having a drink and meal in the bar as well as our own experience. The room looked liked it had been redecorated fairly recently and was clean. Two tower fans were provided which helped as the sun shone into our room in the day. “This was my first solo trip on my birthday, and the staff were very helpful and kind, and the room was wonderfully cosy. I would highly recommend anyone going, and I will be returning again soon. The hotel is literally in the heart of Bakewell and close to Chatsworth House. Parking: I would recommend going to the bridge car park nearby, as it has overnight parking and reasonable priced.”

“Beautiful location, Staff was friendly and pub was excellent. Lack of aircon, while common, is something to be aware of depending on the time of year.”

“I stayed there because I had to visit some customers really close. It seems like this place it's more for weddinds or other celebrations than for staying in. The service was not helpful at all. Breakfast it's included but there was a team of people just chatting and nobody came to explain what could I order. I had to go and ask and they were not kind at all. I won't definitely come back.”

“One night stay, room(plum porter) much bigger than photos , clean comfy and in keeping with the building. Staff very friendly, beer spot on food good. We didn't want breakfast as we were going for lunch, just. Suited us. Lovely little village, church peaceful, sound of the bells chiming, like going back in time. Nothing we didn't like, beautiful hanging baskets, beer terrace, a very popular, dog friendly pub, thanks.”
