“A really lovely property - very clean, well equipped and comfortable. Great location in the Peak District with pubs in walking distance and short distance in a car to lots of activities and places of interest. Offroad parking for at least 2 cars. The property is pet friendly with hard floors throughout the ground floor but the garden is small and not the most secure if your dog is large or an escape artist. Our shnauzer was very happy and there is a lovely open green directly in front of the...

“Highly recommend this beautiful period property and rooms. The bed was so comfortable, views out the windows were stunning, lovely bath tub with shower. Ate dinner in the restaurant, was so fresh and tasty with beautiful views across the golf course whilst eating. The grounds are stunning. The staff are welcoming and friendly and keen to ensure your stay is enjoyable. Can’t fault it, thank you for a wonderful stay.”

“The room was okay, but unfortunately there were stains on the walls and the toilet was hanging off the wall. There were only three pillows for two people, and the robes included with the Executive King Room were ripped and clearly well-used. The bed was comfortable enough, though. The staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful, which was definitely a positive.”

“Had a great overnight stay. Lovely room with view on golf course. Nice to have bath with separate shower. Reception team very kind and helpful as were the staff in Roosters restaurant and the breakfast room. I took advantage of the nearby included gym and pool (12 min drive or the hotel also has a free bookable shuttle). All in all I was very impressed.”

“Roads were very narrow getting to the hotel. Give yourself plenty of time! Bathroom not great, bodged fixtures.”

“I stayed here whilst visiting Vicar Water County parkrun. It honestly felt as if I was staying with a family member, very friendly and great attention to detail to detail. My room was spotless and had everything I could have possibly needed. I ordered poached eggs and mushrooms on toast for breakfast, it was cooked to perfection. I can’t praise the owners enough.”
