“The gentleman on reception was very pleasant but the hotel has seen better days. The lift was out of order so we had to haul our luggage up the stairs. The room was very run down and not very clean. It was disappointing, really.”

“The posting was incredibly dishonest. This is a basement. No view, tiny windows above eye level, noise from above late into the night, and stairwell that enters in the middle of the room which leads to the owner's house, I assume into the kitchen given the noise and the constant turning on and off of lights which kept us awake. The pictures show a front porch and the main house, no clear indication you'll be in the basement. If this were posted honestly as a basement unit at a fair price for...

“Splendid historic manse with large bedroom, private bathroom and lovely quiet location. A comfortable two night stay provided by a lovely host serving up a terrific breakfast and great advice for enjoying the countryside and historic houses close by. ”

“Abgelegens, etwas spezielles B&B, das aber seinen Reiz hat. 20 Minuten Autofahrt bis Castle Douglas mit Restaurants. Grosse Zimmer. Z.T. etwas ins Alter gekommen. Da Ende Saison, Frühstücksangebot doch etwas eingeschränkt. Insgesamt aber doch ok, wenn auch nicht ganz günstig.”
