I had a wonderful stay at Gretna Green Hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect for exploring the local area. The breakfast was excellent, and the overall atmosphere was warm and relaxing. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Gretna Green and would happily stay here again.

Really friendly staff at reception, very helpful and easy to deal with. Clean room, comfy bed, nice and quiet at night. Restaurant has lovely meals, and the breakfast was fabulous with lots of options.

I had a very positive experience at this hotel and would definitely recommend it. The check-in process was fast and efficient, which was greatly appreciated after a long day of traveling. ​The room was impeccably clean and surprisingly spacious, offering plenty of room to relax comfortably. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. ​The complimentary breakfast was decent, nothing extraordinary, but it had a good selection and served as a solid, convenient start to the day. ​Overall, it was a hassle-free, comfortable stay with excellent service. I would certainly consider staying here again!

We recently stayed for an overnight at the Smiths Hotel to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary, returning to Gretna Green where we were married 35 years ago. We were allocated one of the newly refurbished rooms at the front of the hotel, which was spotlessly clean and modern. The lounge and bar areas are freshly decorated with plenty of seating, including outdoor seating. We would highly recommend eating at the restaurant as the food was delicious. I enjoyed the Lamb and my husband had the steak, he said it was cooked to perfection. Hats off to the chef and staff as despite a large football function and another larger table at the time we were dining it did not have an impact on the quality of food or the level of service provided by the staff. The staff are a credit to the hotel. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the Blacksmiths shop and visitor centre. The village centre is a short walk away and there is also an outlet village with shops close by. Carlisle is only about a 15min drive away. We would not hesitate to recommend Smiths hotel if you are looking for a hotel in the area.
