“The breakfasts and evening meals were fantastic.The staff Cal and Becky were so welcoming and lovely people. We went as strangers and left as friends. We didn't use the bar as we don't drink, but it was well stocked. The whole place was spotless.”

As we and other guests were visiting the Teddy Swims event in Scarborough the host played his video in the lounge and waited for everyone to return after the event. Property is dated but as the saying goes “if it works don’t fix it.””

“You get what you pay for i guess. We enjoyed our stay, staff are friendly. Not as clean as i would like but for the price what do you expect. Breakfast was not the best but was fed. Loads of cereals to choose from for the kids. Coffee was beaut. Toast and jams. Lovely doggies :-) ”

“We asked for aground floor as we do not do well with steps and they put us in an annex which was obviously new and was just right for us. Our fault that we didn't ask for clean towels etc. The staff are all very welcoming and the meals variable and very enjoyable.”

“The room, service, food were all great. The only complaint was the breakfast. We got there and 9:30am they finish at 10am and there was hardly anything left and they don't put out more yogurt, fruit, cheese etc. Very disappointed in that aspect.”

“Staff, meals location and facilities excellent. Very welcoming. Be aware that the secure free parking is what it says, but for some (like us with limited mobility) it is a bit of a challenging walk back to the main building. Otherwise a very satisfying stay.”

“Sadly, this was a bad experience. I booked via Expedia where the hotel was advertising a Michelin trained chef and a restaurant. I travelled solo 145 miles for a two night break purely because of this. Upon arrival, I was disappointed to learn the restaurant closed last year. I expressed this disappointment in very civil tones, explaining this was the only reason for my visit. I asked the owner Stacie if I could therefore cancel my second night and obtain a partial refund for it. Stacie agreed...

“I booked a double room but we were checked into a twin with no availability to move. The room was a good size with plenty of space for clothes. Unfortunately the beds were not that comfortable and there was no shower gel in the dispenser. The bathroom, however was beautifully appointed with a lovely shower and basin. Breakfast was nice, although they kept running out of things - but these were replaced with a bit of a wait which was no problem to us as we weren't on a time limit, but could have...
