In it's time the hotel would have been very regal but although clean and tidy it is in great need of refurbishment. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed, easy chair, desk and tea/coffee making facilities. An ironing board and iron stored in a cupboard with plenty of coat hangers. Overall we enjoyed our one-night stay at The Royal.

We thought the room was lovely. Well decorated with lots of nice touches. The two staff I spoke to were polite and helpful. Our room had a lovely view of the beach. The parking was quite easy in the multi store in the precinct. The room was clean but could do with a few finishing touches, like for example a hole in the floor which had been filled in but not finished off properly. The bathroom needs a blind at the window. The shower gel bottle in the bathroom was empty. Didn’t have breakfast so cannot comment on that.

Lovely big comfy bed. Whilst the room was clean and comfortable the decor was a bit tired. It was a hot day and the only method of cooling was a small fan and we couldnt open the windows. Also the curtain runners need sorting as we couldnt close one of the curtains properly Staff were friendly and efficient and breakfast was very good.

Gorgeous hotel, I will definitely stay again. My children and I enjoyed being here. The bar/lounge is great as is the impressive reception. Really good food and service from staff. Our room was a little bit dated but did not faze us. As the beds were super comfy and we had a bath and shower which was good. Overall had a great experience.

On arrival my husband was given a door key card not the actual key that was actually needed. He was stuck outside the room on the second floor because had had all the luggage and didn't want to lug it back downstairs. Room was very hot with no view but fortunately had a fan. Bed was comfortable and TV reception was very poor. Best I can do was our stay was 2 star.🙂‍↕️

The hotel has lots of character and the evening entertainment was simple but enjoyable. Prices for drinks was a little pricy but what you would expect in a tourist place. We had a bit of a challenge with the rooms booked into a room and it was already occupied when we walked in this happened twice then we finally found a room that was empty. The room was clean at first glance bed very comfortable. But the bathroom smelt of sewage and there was thick black water coming up through shower plughole when we ran any water which kind of ruined the stay. Also the cuos in the room where dirty and kettle needed a descaled on it. Other than that for a quick stay it was pleasant and a very nice view over to the harbour.

Lovely hotel, it was very quiet, given it was March but a 25 minute wait for someone to come and serve in the bar seemed excessive- just didn’t seem to have staff about the place. Beach view was great and room very big. Great location if you can find a spot to park your car.
