I think it essentially depends on where you get placed - annex, arch house or in the pub etc, as to what the rooms are like rather than your booking. “The breakfasts were good, although they weren't included, but it was hard to get an evening meal. The room I stayed in was near the road and boiler/ air conditioning so it was very noisy so I slept very badly. The fire alarm went off early in the morning and we didn't get any information from the staff so didn't know if it was safe to return to our rooms. Although geographically it worked well I wouldn't stay there again.”

“Ik wilde een echt Engels plattelands hotel met een pub. Daaraan heeft dit hotel volledig voldaan. Het bier van het freehouse was uitstekend en de pub maaltijden waren lekker en origineel. De kamer voldeed aan de verwachtingen : teafacility, tv. Prima badkamer. De kamer waar ik in verbleef was buiten het hoofdgebouw. De muren waren zo dik, dat ik geen last heb gehad van het erg warme weer. Ik kan het van harte aanbevelen.”

“This stay was perfect the pub and accommodation offered a warm old fashioned authentic overnight stay for 4 of us in a family room. The staff were kind and friendly and made you feel like an important guest. “My room was on the ground floor right next to the entrance and a lounge which I think was for the staff. It was very noisy! The tv was on and someone was talking loudly on their phone - I needed an early night as I wasn’t feeling well. That didn’t happen. As a woman travelling alone I was not comfortable with a ground floor room close to the entrance - I would have liked to open the window, but did not feel secure enough.
