The location was ideal for exploring York. We were in the middle of everything and yet felt secluded. Our room was clean and comfortable with lots of character. The staff were beyond fantastic - so very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when we travel back to York.

What a charming place to stay, right in the middle of the historical town, lovely room, comfortable bed and great shower. Great amenities. Very quite, just down a wee ally. Close to restaurants and shopping. Staff were very helpful.

I had a wonderful stay at Judges Court Hotel. The location is excellent — close to everything and perfect for exploring the area. The room was super clean, the bed was very comfortable, and overall the hotel felt welcoming and well‑kept. It was a great stay and I would happily return.

Room was well used and needed an update. There was mould on the rim of the shower tray It was too hot despite it being mid October and the fan provided was very noisy so didn’t get any sleep Stair access very narrow and steep and no mention of this when the room was booked. The location was good as was the provision of coffee pod machine and complimentary bottles of water

This quirky hotel made a nice chance from the predictable uniformity of those I usually book. The location could not be faulted. The double shower was a unique touch, and the whole place had something of archaic splendour about it. There weren't really any amenities I was aware of on site but, being in the middle of a shopping street, there were plenty of breakfast/ dinner options very close by. And the staff that I interacted with were all very pleasant, even though my engagements with them were limited to leaving and collecting my room key. Thanks to all who made my stay successful.

It’s a lovely property but in need of maintenance. It is in the busy centre, but sits in the quietness of a courtyard. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is no restaurant. Breakfast is packed in a bag that you can take with you, so would forego if reduces price as plenty of really nice breakfast places in York, although not many seem to open before 8:30 or 9am.

If you are travelling to York parking is an issue, but that is the same in all cities to be fair. Be prepared to pay £30 per 24 hours for Q-Park, it’s out of the hotel’s control, but a factor to consider when visiting York for any hotel without a guest car park. That said, the hotel’s location could not be better for a tourist type stay, you really are in the middle of things and being pedestrianised it is lovely and quiet - except early morning, when trucks are making their deliveries! The hotel itself is very quirky, a beautiful old building. The maintenance was a little off but nothing to impact your stay - a failed bathroom lightbulb and flaking paint on the inside of the windows. Things that good housekeeping shouldn’t miss. We didn’t use any facilities, so I cannot report on that. We had a basic room. Which was very small but also very comfortable. Good bathroom! I would stay again.
