The hotel is perfectly placed in the centre of York and easy to get to. The staff were lovely and were able to accommodate giving us a lower-level room, which was so helpful (especially when pregnant in a heatwave!). There were lots of options available in the mini bar as well as teas, coffees, etc. The room was very comfortable and clean - we will definitely return next time we come to York.

Perfect location for walking through York Gardens. We were downstairs but still had plenty of light coming through. Lots of space and we cracked our window at night which kept us cool enough - though wished there was a safety lock on the windows - we didn’t notice one. And the fan could be cleaned - didn’t use because it was covered it dust. Sink was stopped up but couldn’t be we didn’t know how to open the drain more.

Our 2nd stay at The Jorvik. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean with an excellent shower. We chose not to have a breakfast tray as there are plenty of eating options nearby. The minibar was very well stocked.

Positives - Good location for York; great showers and comfortable bed. Negatives - only breakfast option is continental breakfast served in room, though room facilities to do this minimal. No communal space for a drink etc other than a small unwelcoming area between the front door and the reception hatch, which offered a very small range of self serve drinks. More a place to sleep than a place to stay.

Very lovely welcome to a historic and plush, cosy stay at Jorvik House for a post Christmas getaway. Everything fantastic, only mimor gripes that Yorks parking might be a tad cheaper, perhaps there are cheaper ones than the conveniently located Marygate car park a stones throw away.

Always come back to Jorvik if possible - staff are friendly. Rooms cozy and comfortable. We were in a junior suite this time and apart from the long climb to the top of the property was just what we needed.

Check in was a very pleasant experience. We took advantage of the luggage check and on return to the hotel for check in our bags had been delivered to our room. We were even showed to our room, a nice touch. Room was very clean and the bed comfortable. A million dollar view from our room across a quiet street. Would definitely stay again.
