Unfortunately this was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at in New York and bottom 5 anywhere. I will never stay at a Yotel anywhere ever again. - check in is at 3pm, no exceptions - check in is supposed to be on a touch screen kiosk that wasn’t working for everyone was checking in at the same time at 3pm and we stood in line for 58 minutes - The staff were all incredibly rude and unprofessional when you’d ask questions or for help, they answered as if I should know the answer to “where is the restroom?”, “do y’all have a restaurant on property”, and “Can y’all keep my luggage while I explore the city until check-in” - You have to PAY THEM in CASH ONLY for them to hold your luggage ahead of check in or after check out time… after I’ve already paid for my room, I now have to pay you in cash to hold my bag in a hallway? - The rooms look like hospital rooms - Everything is in poor condition or scraped up or damaged in the room - This is rated a 4 Star Property but it could barely hang on as a 3 Star - The Bathroom on the 4th floor (public restroom for guests next to their on site property) was DISGUSTING. It was not clean at all. It was 2pm in the afternoon, so not like it was dirty from a bunch of people during a rush hour - The AC in the room didn’t work, I called down to the desk to make them aware, their exact response was “well we’re fully booked so I can’t move you to a new room or anything.” I said “okay. Thats fine. Just an FYI then” and he replied “thanks.” & hung up

The room and bathroom were very small but the hotel itself was nice and clean. Omar was great! Very helpful with our bags. So was the lady that checked us in upon arrival. The only bad encounter I had was with one of the housekeepers. I’ve never had any hotel staff speak so rude to me. She was mad because we weren’t out of the room yet when she came to clean. I tried to tell her she could go in and start since my boyfriend was just brushing his teeth before we left but she rolled her eyes and yelled at me.

I had a reservation from 10/10-10/14 and a late arrival flight arriving at 1am on 10/11. I called the property a few weeks prior to my trip to notify of the late arrival to make sure they held my reservation. By the time we got to the hotel it was 2:30am, only to learn that our reservation had not been respected and they no longer had any vacancies. My reservation had been made since a month prior and was fully paid. By the time another hotel was found for the night it was 5am and we had to pay the travel expense to that other hotel, a cost of almost $100. Then another $100 back to the hotel at 11am that same day and didn’t get our room until 10/11 after 3pm. We lost a whole days stay and they did not refund that night and stated they didn’t know what was going on. I read reviews about the same thing happening to other people. There was another customer at the same time as I was there who had the same thing happen to them. I’m not sure how this is an issue if they have a system in which they can notate the accounts and reservations but the employees are irresponsible and fail to do their job properly. This can all be avoided if they have their employees properly notate and communicate with each other.
