Union Station is less than two blocks away. For a single tourist visiting DC for the first time, it was delightful. The staff was extremely kind and welcoming. They were able to point me in the right sightseeing directions and noted my coming and going. Housekeeping was very good and I just loved the room.

The restaurant was closed down for refurbishment when we were there so that amenity was not available. The staff was very friendly and willing to give us a break on the amenity charge the room, which is fantastic. Every day about 8 o’clock it started smell like dryer vent in our room and the room would get heated up pretty quickly but the central location of the hotel to all the attractions of Washington DC makes it a consideration for an next trip.

The staff was cheerful, helpful, and really went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The decor, however, was tired and needs replacing. No info provided about hotel, DC, etc No bar in lobby. Light fixture in bathroom didn’t work, engineer came to fix and it worked for about 10 minutes than broke again. Great location though! We’re staying at the Kimpton Cardinal in Winston Salem tonight…big difference!!! Bar in room, great restaurant and bar…I think the George just needs an upgrade. TY

Close to the Capitol, Union Station, and museums. Ahmed at the front desk was particularly friendly. Continental breakfast was nice and the hotel provided complimentary wine, soft drinks, and snacks in the late afternoon. Bikes are also available to check out at no charge.

The best feature of this hotel was the fact that it was dog-friendly, which is what I cared most about. Overall the stay was fine, the room was comfortable, and everything worked in the room. However there was no continental breakfast as advertised - just "grab and go" sad pastries and a couple of apples and oranges in a bowl. Grab and go is not the same as a continental breakfast
