However, the service was poor - they felt understaffed and even non busy mealtimes seemed a strain on resources. “I didn't like having a room which faced out onto the courtyard where pub guests were drinking and eating. It meant that to get privacy you had to draw the curtains which then covered not only the door but also the only windows and I like to have open windows, especially when there is no air conditioner. Having said that, the room itself was quite comfortable and the food was good.”

“Room was tidy and clean with a fancy towel display on the bed, (nice touch for the wife). The staff was friendly and polite and made conversation with you, the bar staff was just the same, even the manager made polite conversation about the history of the pub. The bar food l👀k’d amazing.
