Vacations Close To Vancouver Convention Centre

We stayed at the Block House for a couple of nights and really enjoyed our stay. The staff was very responsive to our questions via text messaging both before and after check-in, and the property and rooms were exceptionally clean. The best part is the location—you really can't beat it. You're just a short walk from downtown, the waterfront, and right in the heart of Gastown. There are also several great coffee shops nearby, along with a charming breakfast and lunch spot directly across the street. One thing to keep in mind is that the property is located on the edge of Gastown. Just a couple of blocks away, you'll encounter a less polished part of Vancouver with a visible homeless population. In addition, the building is historic, so if you're a light sleeper, it's a good idea to bring earplugs. You may hear some street noise or people screaming in the middle of the night as well as sounds from neighboring rooms. That said, this is to be expected in an older building in a lively urban neighborhood, and it shouldn't come as a surprise if you've done a bit of research on the area before your stay.

Overall, I had a good stay. The hotel was clean, well maintained, and located in a great neighborhood. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and ready to help, especially the front desk team. The room was comfortable and nicely appointed, although it was smaller than it appeared in the photos. The café/bar and pool area were also smaller than expected. One disappointment was that there was not anyone attending the pool bar when I checked it. There were signs showing the pool’s hours of operation, but no information about the pool bar’s hours or whether it was open. The in-room dining service was prompt, but the breakfast was disappointing. The eggs, potatoes, and omelet were very dry. I called to ask for mayonnaise or ranch dressing, and I was initially told they didn’t have either. After I insisted, I was told they would send some if available, but nothing was ever delivered. I mentioned this to the front desk when checking out, and they said they would pass the feedback along to the restaurant staff. Despite these issues, I enjoyed my stay. The hotel is very nice, the staff are courteous, and the location is excellent.
