Vacations Close To USA Hockey Arena

Excellent stay at the Frederick Stearns hotel in Detroit. Beautiful renovation with free parking. Large suite style room and bathroom. Very close to Riverfront and the downtown.

My Deluxe Room with 1 King Bed was $335.30 before taxes, which feels a bit steep for what it offers. It seemed comparable to a Red Roof Inn in quality, but without the affordable price tag.

Staff was amazing! Very responsive and respectful. However, the building needs maintenance. There was heavy rains and my room was leaking. In addition to that, I had to switch room twice since the AC wasn’t working and this was honestly very exhausting especially after coming after a long flight and simply ready to rest. Other than this, I would say I had an okay stay.

My only complaint really is that they were short staffed, so my first experience checking in I had to wait in a life with over 20 people. That took a while and got me behind schedule but even with that being the case. The worker who checked me in remained positive. My other complaint is parking isn’t inconsistent. I didn’t see if there was a specific time posted on when valet parking stops, but the parking was inconsistent. Sometimes valet parking was open, other times I had to self park in the lot which was kind of an inconvenience having to go around the other side of the building unknowingly and possibly parking far from the door. The room was beautiful, thankful for two tvs, thankful for A MICROWAVE seems hard to come across nowadays in Detroit hotels for some reason, first time using a steamer was not prepared for that still not used to it, still prefer a board but it was neat. The view in my room was amazing. The internet connection kept going in and out with my iPhone 16pro max like if I walk a certain distance away from the tv it would disconnect whatever was playing through my phone, Spotify, or YouTube but thankful for “smart tvs”
