“Idiosyncratic to be sure. Initially we were a bit non plussed but over time became very comfortable. The negatives are that there are a lot of stairs (unless you stay in a downstairs room of course) and they are steep and narrow. “Our room was beautiful. Very spacious and clean. All staff very pleasant apart from one waitress in the restaurant who looked very unhappy and clearly didn’t want to be there. We were celebrating my daughter’s birthday so there was quite a few of us to be served. Service with a smile there was not! Breakfast was not brilliant.
