“The lovely cottage was not as clean as it could be. Great location, comfy bed and furniture, finished to a high standard, lovely log burner and decor. ”

“Plenty of room for parking, breakfast was fantastic. Pauline was a lovely lady and very helpfull. We had a free standing mirror on a shelf in the bathroom which was quite heavy. I think it should be secured better as could be easily disturbed by a young child which could be quite dangerous. Would definitely go back again.”

The building is genuinely impressive, full of history and character, and staying there feels very different from a conventional hotel. “Nice hotel, reception and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel in general was a little tired around the edges but it was clean and had soft towels! We were in room 9 with a sea view which was much like the sea view in Fawlty Towers but we weren’t there to specifically stare out of the window… and the tv needed switched on and off at the wall because the power button on the remote doesn’t work.
