“I was really looking forward to my stay at The Candlesticks. However as soon as I entered, I began to have my doubts. The bar area, where the owner received us, looked particularly shabby and it smelt musty. It was 3pm (an hour after checking-in should have started) and the room wasn't ready. It wasn't such a big deal, but it was another warning sign. I was in a single room, which made a certain saying about a cat spring to mind. “In a lovely part of the world. A great place to stay. The menu looked good. The breakfast was brilliant. The room was nice and clean with good amenities. Would certainly stay here again.”

“Overall excellent but let down by breakfast. The service was slow and I had to order coffee 3 times before I received it. Bacon was overdone.”

“Lovely hotel, staff were fantastic and room was cleaned to an okay standard. We stayed for 2 nights and our room wasn’t cleaned, tea/coffee not replenished, no fresh towels, toilet rolls not replenished resulting in me having to call reception for more. That was the only downside to the stay”
