“I was really looking forward to my stay at The Candlesticks. However as soon as I entered, I began to have my doubts. The bar area, where the owner received us, looked particularly shabby and it smelt musty. It was 3pm (an hour after checking-in should have started) and the room wasn't ready. It wasn't such a big deal, but it was another warning sign. I was in a single room, which made a certain saying about a cat spring to mind. “Perfect accommodation for my 2 children and grandchildren. Rented 2 lodges for a wedding locally at a good price for 6 adults and 5 children. Ate in club house and the 2 boys enjoyed playing golf on the par 3 and practicing on the driving range. Recommend.”

“It's a lovely old in with lots of character. The staff were very good and helpful Food was very good. The room was serviced every day. The only thing I would ask for extra would be two chairs in the room, and perhaps coat hangers”

“Excellent food in a lovely village next to a main road however when you shut the windows the traffic noise was vastly reduced. The close room was great value.”
