“It was very shabby and it smelt bad. It is conveniently situated for the centre of Clacton but it was very noisy and so I didn't sleep well. There was very little space in the bathroom. They don't do breakfasts so I had to schlep round town in the heat trying to find somewhere. On a positive note the gentleman was very friendly and welcoming when I checked in.”

There were a number of issues with our room, including a shower which would not drain properly, and dodgy wifi, leading also to problems with the TV. “The ground floor room was fine, with easy access to the parking area. The shower room was very clean and modern; the bedding was immaculate on a comfortable bed; it was a shame the carpet hadn't been vacuumed. We would have liked a small fridge and a second opening window as the weather was exceedingly hot, but we appreciated the air conditioning. “Good location, huge carpark, comfy bed , very quiet rooms, and really good friendly helpful staff. Only downside in the room was the shower which was very weak. Breakfast wasnt great, £14 each for a buffet but the quality wasn't great but it's hard when you're massive catering like that I suppose. Overall a nice comfortable stay and we would use it again.”

“We were surprised to be told that the kitchen was closed that evening due to an illness of the chef when our dinner reservation was accepted that afternoon by the receptionist. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a bar, but the white wine was undrinkable. The continental breakfast was of a poor standard.”

“I paid for a room with a window the window does not open. Was so hot no air on. The room was not clean stains on the bedding the floor was covered in dust and human hair. You go into the bathroom there was a huge nail sticking out on the floor. Booked 2 people only got 1 towel? The staff behind desk was nice. But will never go back.”
