Vacations Close To Tehachapi Loop

The room was small dim and grim. The bathtub was awful - either needs to be bombed with bleach or entirely reporcelain. The windows were caked and dirt. There is only one dim overhead light and a tiny little desk lamp Nothing by the bedside. The sheets we're very clean and very white but the bottom she was not fitted so it continually slipped and expose the mattress. That said, it was an amazing location, right on Powell so for the price it is a decent value. It's just very bare-bones. Their affiliated property, the Bartlett guest house is where I usually stay and has a bit more charm to it. The woman who checked me in was very helpful and accommodated my room requests, and warned me that if I had a street facing room it would be very noisy. It was indeed, but I actually kind of like the sounds of the city especially because the cable cars passed right below and that is a delight. One of the windows was broken and unable to open it, but I was able to get fresh air the room temperature was always fine the floors were clean. The bathroom however has a ridiculous door that you basically have to step into the bathtub to get around to get to the toilet. All in all it was well worth what I paid but I have the choice I will go around the corner to the Bartlett. Oh also - I asked for late check out and they were very accommodating at front desk but they didn't inform the cleaning crew! So I was awoken twice by knocks on my door when I had really wanted to sleep late.

Great gym , super clean, friendly And helpful staff

I stayed at the Majestic Hotel last week (Sept 16 2026) with a friend. There was no hot water in the evening which we weren’t told about or offered any alternatives for. There was still no hot water in the morning and again, no communication or alternatives offered. We’d booked 2 nights so I asked for a refund for the second night which was done and we left after the first night. I overheard other guests talking to Jack at the front desk about getting the previous night comped & asked about partial compensation for our stay since we payed several hundreds of dollars to stay at a hotel with no hot water and no apparent attempt on the part of the hotel to communicate or make up for that. The refund for the night we had not stayed was given but when I asked about the previous night, I was told that the refund given was a gesture of goodwill rather than the least they could do given the circumstances. Would not recommend and will not stay again.

Very well designed room. Clean,comfortable, free parking. Air conditioning. Great toiletries. Good location. Loved it. Staff were helpful and nice.

None of the vending machines work well. Tried 11 times to get a snack and a soda and failed. Isn’t really a bar unless you’re an E
