Hatsu-hinode, the tradition of waking up early on New Years Day to watch the first sunrise of the year, is still popular in Japan. If you are in the Imabari area, Kurushima Kaikyo Bridge is the perfect spot to watch the sunrise above the Seto Inland Sea.
