“Excellent hotel and highly recommend to all. Location is perfect. Right in the centre of Buxton. Very beautiful and surrounded by lovely cafes, bars, restaurants. There isn’t a car park on site so I parked in the train station which cost about £5 for 24 hours and was 2 mins walk away. Room was very nicely appointed. Lovely and quiet. Felt private. “On our arrival we were met by the delightful owner who made us feel very welcome. She was also a source of information which proved extremely beneficial. Our room was part of the converted stable block which was fine apart from the small windows which made the room dark and claustrophobic. Had we stayed longer then I would of asked to be moved. “We had booked a twin room as we were attending an event at Buxton Opera House which is literally across the road. The room was clean and tidy. We had a bathroom with bath and shower over bath. The hotel is very old and it’s showing signs of that in certain places. However it is being refurbished slowly I understand having been taken over by Champneys who own the Crescent Hotel which is next door.
